Evangelist Note

May 28, 2007

(GB Message)

It has been quite a long time since my previous note to you all. In biblical language it is a small time duration; why, even 2000 years is considered a small period of time. However, I wish to convey that I really feel that I should have written earlier. The usual human tendency is to give excuses for failures. But what is important is to get up and proceed without becoming either discouraged or finding a scapegoat and giving excuses.

I derive some consolation from the fact that the cause for this delay is not lethargy but debility, not laziness but exhaustion, and, above all, the distinct increase of work load. One more cause that could be attributed to the delay is that several events took place in quick succession. We are nevertheless grateful to God because the needed ministry has taken place systematically; only the publication was handicapped.

Escaping the Wrath of God

May 9, 2007

(GB Message)

Every person born in this world is given a last chance of escape from the terrible wrath of God.
“For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of man, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness…” Rom 1: 18.

Fulltime Ministry

May 3, 2007

(GB Message)

When I use the term fulltime minister, I do not refer to pastors of institutional churches, who are paid regular salaries. Like in any profession, we have good and talented pastors and misfits as well.

For the purpose of this discussion, I use the term fulltime minister to refer to independent evangelists who preach and teach with the sole aim of planting churches according to the rules stipulated in the word of God. Their intention is not to earn their livelihood through this ministry. They have carefully pondered the genuineness of their call from God and weighed the pros and cons of venturing into this ministry. I am alarmed at the number of so-called ‘full time ministers’ who turn out to be glorified beggars due to lack of prayerful planning. This disgraceful state is a dishonour to God.

Should we aspire to be fulltime ministers?
