Statement of Faith
This assembly is orthodox in theology, evangelical in practice and belief, and oriented in grace.
It believes:
1. that the Great Commission of the Lord Jesus to the assembly of God is to preach the gospel of salvation to all the nations proclaiming repentance and forgiveness of sins in His name
2. that the crown and glory of evangelism is planting and nurturing of the assembly of God
3. that salvation is by grace only
4. in the plenary and verbal inspiration of the Bible, its inerrancy as the word of God, and in its indispensability for day-to-day spiritual progress
5. that the Bible becomes meaningful to an individual as the word of God only when it is understood with the help of the Holy Spirit
6. that there is only one God who is the creator of heaven and earth and everything seen and unseen, and who is eternally existing in three persons as the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, in whose name believers are baptized by immersion after they ‘believed’ in response to their hearing by the word of God, ‘repented’ and confessed before the assembly their belief in Jesus as the Son of God, as the Christ, and as their Lord
7. in the vicarious suffering of Jesus Christ, in His atoning blood sacrifice and death on the cross, which brought about the salvation of mankind from sin, Satan and death, and also in His miracles
8. in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension into heaven and in His personal return to the earth some day in the future in power and glory for the judgment of Satan and the world, and for the glorification of the assembly of God, His greatest creation known to mankind
9. in the ministry of the Holy Spirit within and without the Christian and the assembly, in convicting the world of sin, in regenerating the sinner, and in sanctifying the Christian and the assembly
10. that the Holy Spirit also indwells in the believers to enable them to live a godly life, and seals them for the day of redemption
11. that there is only one universal assembly of God which is the body of Christ, and that all Christians are baptized into this body alone and are made to drink of the Spirit
12. that the first day of the week is the Lord’s day, commemorating the resurrection of Lord Jesus, when we gather together to observe the Lord’s supper and for worship; we endeavor to devote this day for spiritual activities
13. that this and all other local assemblies of God all over the world, as part of that universal assembly, have in essence the nature of growing progressively in holiness and towards the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God
14. in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost, they that are saved, unto the resurrection of everlasting life, and they that are lost, unto the resurrection of damnation
15. that there is nothing more important for an individual Christian in the assembly than bearing forth fruit through a sanctified life
16. that it is equally important that the assembly preserves like-mindedness and the unity of the Spirit in the bond of love and peace
17. in a righteousness which comes from God through faith in Christ, as opposed to a righteousness derived from the law
18. that marriage is a holy estate instituted by God and as such this assembly will endeavor to preserve it although the Bible permits divorce in two unusual circumstances as in Mt 5:32 and 1 Cor 7:10-15
19. and in the Premillennial position of the Millennium
